We’ve had some sad news. Honeybee Creative music programme alumni Carolyn Mort has passed on. Our sympathies are with her family. She was a true heart with deep sense of justice, caring for others needs often ahead of her own.

Carolyn came to us wanting to develop her skills as a lyricist because she had become aware of the benefits of self-expression for mental health. She also had a desire to turn her lyrics into songs in order to be able to share them more widely.

So, Carolyn arrives with one song “I hope they’ve got VB in heaven” – a piece she’d previously written with a friend – and a fist full of lyric sheets. She left us 3 full albums later knowing she’d accomplished something larger than herself and contributed something to the world.

She will be remembered fondly and much missed by all of us who knew her.
