What started out as a fill in during uncertain times has basically become her mantra and I’m very grateful to those who have put it into place.
Honeybee Creative is great for Sarah. I’ve noticed her confidence has skyrocketed with her speech as everyone is encouraged to contribute to interesting topics, and equally, to listen to what their friends have to say.
Speech therapy sessions take place often and are woven into the program in such an entertaining way that Sarah’s unaware that this is more than mouth gymnastics. It’s really helping her to make her words more distinct and understandable.
The music program is fantastic. Sarah’s actually managing to find the right chords and join in on keyboard and many different kinds of percussive instruments too.
She’s encouraged to use her singing voice in conventional and unconventional ways to great effect and is thrilled to bits to hear the final composition, created by the whole group and using snippets of speech and song and instrumentation very effectively.
The Honeybee Creative theatre productions have seen Sarah really mature into a creative and imaginative performer. Everyone is given the chance to shine and be applauded, and appreciate each other’s skills. Puppetry as a means of more confidently bringing characters into the fore in the theatre was a stroke of genius.
The online Honeybee Creative sessions are fantastic for keeping in touch and active on those days when she just doesn’t feel like setting foot outside the door. It’s a wonderful opportunity to keep in contact with friends who move away from the area.
Sarah loves the exercise and yoga sessions and unlike most things she’s ever become involved in, due to the diversity of activities on offer, continues to be keen to be involved every day. What started out as a fill in during uncertain times has basically become her mantra and I’m very grateful to those who have put it into place.
Thank you Sue for your kind and wonderful words…
